Privacy policy
Last updated October 11, 2026
Arcada Community runs the Bebow Manure Pit Project website at arcada.life. This policy explains how the site handles sign-in information, community submissions, and privacy requests.
The member archive is a shared space. Every signed-in member can read member submissions, view attachments, and see the contributor’s account email. Any visitor who completes the available Google or Facebook sign-in and email verification can become a member.
Information we collect
- Account details: your email address, Google or Facebook account identifier, linked sign-in providers, and account creation date. Google sign-in requests basic identity, email, and profile access; the app uses your identifier and verified email to create your account. Facebook sign-in retrieves your identifier and email, then asks you to confirm your email.
- Your submissions: observation dates, locations, descriptions, weather notes, agency report details, reporter names, and any other information you enter. We store uploaded photos and documents with filenames, file types, sizes, and integrity checks. Original uploads may include embedded location or other metadata.
- Sign-in and security information: temporary sign-in records, session identifiers, email confirmation records, and request limits. The app uses a hashed IP address to limit sign-in attempts. Cloudflare processes network information, including IP addresses, to deliver and protect the site.
- Messages you send us: your email address, request details, and correspondence when you contact the organizer.
Google and Facebook handle your provider password; our app does not receive it. The app uses provider tokens during sign-in and does not store them in its account database.
How we use information
We use account details to verify sign-in, maintain sessions, and associate submissions with their contributors. When you verify the same email through both providers, the app links those identities to one account. We use submission data to maintain the shared community record and security information to limit abuse.
The site does not include advertising trackers or third-party analytics scripts. Saving an observation or report here does not send it to an agency.
Who can see information
Anyone can view the existing public gallery and public agency-report documents. Signed-in members can view the shared member archive, including contributor emails and uploaded files. Project administrators can access stored account and submission data to operate the site and handle requests.
Cloudflare hosts the website, account database, and file storage, and supports confirmation-email delivery when Facebook sign-in is available. Google or Meta processes your sign-in through its own services. Your email provider processes messages you exchange with the organizer. These services also follow their own privacy policies.
Members can download or copy material they can access. Share only information you intend other members to see, and avoid unnecessary personal details about yourself or others.
Cookies and retention
The site uses cookies for sign-in and account security. A member session lasts up to 12 hours. Temporary sign-in cookies last up to 10 minutes, and email confirmation cookies last up to 15 minutes. Signing out ends the current member session. Blocking cookies prevents member sign-in.
The app keeps accounts, submissions, and attachments until the organizer removes them; these records have no automatic expiration. Temporary sign-in and security records expire, and the daily cleanup removes expired database records. Hosting providers may keep service logs or recovery copies under their own retention practices.
Your choices and deletion requests
You can browse the public archive without signing in and choose whether to submit information. To request access, corrections, account deletion, or removal of a particular record, email greening+arcada@gmail.com. The organizer may ask you to verify that the information or account belongs to you.
Follow the data deletion instructions for the information to include and the limits of removal. Disconnecting Google or Facebook alone does not remove records from this site.
